Allow to sort by realtime vs. static or batched data. Include more realtime feeds from science departments (satellite, geographic sensors, camera's, location data of assets, monitoring equipment). This allows the public to for instance write realtime monitoring applications for earthquakes, volcanic erruptions. Or process other data in realtime (like raw feeds from satelites, power stations, water quality, weather, ...more »
Create a page that highlights applications that are making use of data from data.gov. The examples should be real world (not demo's) sites that currently are making use of the data. They should range from simple to more complex. The public should be able to submit their sites to list. Possibly to encourage the use of the data prizes should be given out for the "best" sites, chosen by the goverment, or by public voting. ...more »

Should be able to filter by area of country, as well as include data (with appropriate notification) from cities, towns, and states.
There should be a standard way for cities, towns, states to incorporate their data into data.gov.
You should list the types of data requested by the public and the number of votes for each type.
There should be a way to search for data that was created in 1997.
There should also be a way to search for only static data. Likewise there should be a way to filter by only data that is actively being updated or dynamic.
